All About Tea

All about Rooibos Tea

Rooibos is made from the leaves of a different shrub and hence has no caffeine in it so it a good alternative to black tea. It has a red leaf and the colour in the cup is also red when infused as tea. The flavour is warm and earthy and it is drunk without milk.

It is grown in South Africa and is very rich in vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants so is a very useful drink for those trying to loose weight . In general it has a great many of the claims that green tea has but with the added benefit that there is no caffeine in it.

It can be drunk at night to aid sleep.

It also claimed to have healing properties for common skin problems.

Cotswold Tea has three plain types: Rooibos, Honeybush and Sweetbush aswell as two flavoured products called Kalahari and Fireside. They all take 5-6 minutes to infuse but can be left longer as they do not overbrew like black teas.
