All About Tea
Earl Grey Tea
Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas have been favourites for generations. Both teas have ardent followers who drink nothing else. When Cotswold tea started in 2003 the company looked very hard at whether or not it should produce an Earl Grey tea. Extensive trials were held in India and Kathmandu; the tea had to offer something to the public that was not there already.
Earl Grey tea is tea containing Oil of Bergamot whilst Lady Grey contains oil of Bergamot and flavours from Citrus fruits. After trials in India the real work began with a whole series of tea tastings across England. One of the Earl Grey teas we had produced had the Wow factor. Tasting after tasting revealed people had an overwhelming favourite. This was a delicately flavoured Earl Grey made with a top quality Orthodox Assam. The tea has been a consistent best seller since it was launched. In the majority of tearooms that we supply this is the most popular tea served after the house tea. Many of our mail order customers return time and time again for this tea and feed back how delighted they are with it. Customers who are served this tea in a tea room have sought us out to try it for themselves at home.

Dear Customers
With this long dry spell we have had keeping hydrated is a big challenge but somehow tea always comes up to the mark, be it a rousing cup of Assam or a refreshing light cup of Darjeeling. I have been resting up on the deck of my narrow boat with many a cup of Darjeeling this last month in between packing the new teas like cazy of course!
As it comes arround to the summer holidays I know a number of you just can't go away without your own tea so make sure you get your order in before you set off for your well earned rest.
Have a great summer and take care!
Regards
Kay Healey
